Optimiste is a brand new range of boutique, single vineyard wines from Mudgee, New South Wales.
Optimiste is owned and run by the Dadd family who have been producing exceptional fruit from their vineyards for over 10 years now and have sold to some of the best wineries in New South Wales.
They are now realising their long held dream to launch their own wines under the name OPTIMISTE. A name inspired by their son’s struggle with deafness and a quote by Helen Keller, “Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.”
Optimiste wines come from the Dadd’s pristine vineyards set high up in the hills on the south east side of Mudgee. The well drained, north facing gravel slopes are well insulated from frost and produce some of the cleanest, disease free fruit in the district. The vineyards are hand picked and yields are between 3-4 tonnes of fruit per acre.
In past vintages this fruit has been used to make several award winning wines and is now set to do the same for Optimiste.The vineyards have proved to be exceptionally well suited to Mudgee’s signature red Cabernet Sauvignon and produce powerful and concentrated wines with complex flavours and ageing potential.
The Dadds are unashamedly proud of the Mudgee wine region, with its near 150 years of winemaking history, production of super-fine modern wine, great restaurant culture and spectacular natural beauty.
The soon-to-open Optimiste cellar door will see the total in the region rise above 35 – more than neighbouring wine region Orange – and cement Mudgee’s reputation as a quality wine tourism destination.
